Administratively seals dismissed criminal complaints filed after October 1, 2026, upon defendant request.

This bill amends the General Laws to administratively seal individual counts of criminal complaints dismissed under Rule 48(a) filed on or after October 1, 2026, upon request of the defendant following the conclusion of the matter in district court. The court clerk must send the sealing order electronically to the bureau of criminal identification within five days of the order's entry and carry out the sealing within ninety days of receipt. The act takes effect on October 1, 2026.
