Rhode Island S2532 amends the definitions of farm and agricultural land to include land on which agricultural operations are being conducted or is suitable for agriculture operations, and further expands the definition of a farmer to include any person who owns or is a principal operator of a farm. Agricultural operations include commercial enterprises primarily focused on horticulture, field crops, viticulture, floriculture, forestry, stabling of horses, dairy farming, aquaculture, or the raising of livestock. This bill takes effect upon passage.
