Establishes a digital electronics right to repair, allowing for digital electronic equipment and parts sold in Rhode Island on or after January 1.

This bill establishes a digital electronics right to repair, allowing for digital electronic equipment and parts sold in Rhode Island on or after January 1, 2027, to be repaired at an independent repair provider. It requires original equipment manufacturers to make documentation, parts, and tools available to independent repair providers and equipment owners at no charge, except for the reasonable costs of preparing and sending physical copies.
