Rhode Island S2352 amends the General Laws to prohibit the importation, transportation, disbursement, distribution, sale, or purchase of any species of non-native (exotic) terrestrial invasive plants. The director is tasked with defining these plants and promulgating rules and regulations governing the prohibition. Violations of this section are punishable by a fine of up to five hundred dollars ($500). The prohibition and its enforcement will not become effective until the rules and regulations governing the prohibition and its applicability take effect.
