Expands the duties of the small business ombudsman to include serving as the Rhode Island commerce corporation's small business advocate.

This bill expands the duties of the small business ombudsman to also serve as the Rhode Island commerce corporation's small business advocate. The ombudsman will work with regulatory agencies to ensure small businesses have a means to comment on enforcement activities. The ombudsman will also provide assistance to petition an agency or licensing authority for rule changes. The small business advocate will coordinate with government agencies to improve small business climate and report annually on activities and recommendations. The act takes effect upon passage.
