Limits the number of self-service checkout stations in grocery stores and mandates a minimum ratio of manual checkout stations to self-service.

The Restrictions on Self-Service Checkout Stations Act caps the number of self-service checkout stations a grocery store can operate at any one time to eight per location. It also mandates that for every two self-service checkout stations, there must be at least one manual checkout station in operation. Additionally, no more than two self-service checkout stations can be monitored by a single employee, who must be relieved of all other duties while performing this task. The act applies to all grocery stores in the state that offer shoppers the use of self-service checkout stations.
