Rhode Island S2318 amends Chapter 7-6.2 of the General Laws to clarify the role of corporations governed as workers' cooperatives. These corporations can now indicate in their articles of incorporation or bylaws their intent to furnish contract labor for other entities, provided the workers are considered independent contractors. The bill also specifies that if workers use a cooperative to secure work with another entity but are not members of the cooperative, certain subsections do not apply to them.
