Proposed amendment to the Rhode Island Constitution to grant the governor a line item veto on budget and appropriation bills.

This bill proposes an amendment to the Rhode Island Constitution to grant the governor a line item veto on budget and appropriation bills. The governor could approve, reduce, or disapprove specific items or parts of items within such bills. If the governor disapproves parts of a bill, the general assembly must reconsider those parts separately. The amendment would be subject to a referendum for voter approval.
