Reduces the time for expungements to 3 years for a single misdemeanor and 5 years for felonies and multiple misdemeanors.

This bill amends the Rhode Island General Laws to reduce the time for expungements of criminal records. It sets the time for expungement of a single misdemeanor conviction to three years and for felonies and multiple misdemeanors to five years. The bill applies to individuals who have completed their sentences and paid any related fees or fines. The changes will take effect immediately upon passage.
