Introduced Text

Rhode Island S2282 amends voter notification requirements for local elections and early voting periods.

Rhode Island S2282 changes how local boards notify voters about local elections and early voting. It requires local boards to publish early voting dates, hours, and locations in newspapers and on websites. The boards must also post local ballot questions on their websites and in newspapers. The bill mandates that these notices comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA level. It also allows for alternative methods of notification, such as mailing notices to households. The changes take effect upon passage.
