Rhode Island S2250 reinstates general revenue sharing of state aid among the 39 cities and towns. The initial amount is based on population, determined by the 2020 census. For fiscal years ending June 30, 2028 and thereafter, aid will increase by the total percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers (CPI-U). The act takes effect upon passage.
