Rhode Island S2196 aims to protect individuals from being forced to disclose private keys associated with digital assets, digital identities, or other rights. This bill prohibits the compelled production of private keys in civil, criminal, administrative, legislative, or other proceedings, except when a public key is unavailable or unable to disclose necessary information. The act takes effect upon passage.
