Rhode Island S2179 repeals daylight savings time and adopts United States Standard Eastern Time year-round. This change applies to all laws, statutes, orders, decrees, rules, and regulations in the state, as well as public schools, institutions, and contracts. The bill will take effect upon passage and enactment by law of a permanent year-round United States Eastern Standard Time in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, in substantially the same form.
