Rhode Island S2175 amends the gross weight limit for vehicles eligible for reserve forces plates from 8,500 lbs. to 12,000 lbs. The special motor vehicle registration plate will display "US Reserve Forces" and the titles of the branches of service. Active and retired members of the United States Reserve Forces can obtain these plates by providing proof of honorable discharge to the DMV. The plates will feature the US flag and can be transferred to the veteran's surviving spouse upon the veteran's death.
