Rhode Island S2170 amends the Employment Security — Benefits to allow unemployment benefits for workers who are on strike or are locked out of their workplaces by their employer due to a labor dispute. This change applies if the claimant is not involved in the labor dispute or if the employer is part of a multi-employer collective bargaining group. Benefits will be available if unemployment continues more than one week after the labor dispute ends. This act would take effect upon passage.
