This bill classifies research, intent and interest in healthcare services as protected healthcare data. It adds responsibilities for regulated entities that seek to collect and share consumer data including a requirement for specific and conspicuous consumer consent. The bill sets forth acceptable uses for the data and what rights the consumer has regarding their data. This act would take effect upon passage.
