This bill mandates that individuals seeking a judicial nomination must reapply to the Judicial Nominating Commission every five years. It also stipulates that individuals selected as finalists are eligible only for the court in which they applied and were chosen, but only for five years following their selection. This five-year eligibility period will expire on July 1, 2028, unless extended by the General Assembly. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2026.
