Rhode Island S2121 provides relief to landlords unable to obtain lead certificates due to state resource limitations.

Rhode Island S2121 allows landlords who did not obtain a lead certificate due to insufficient state resources for inspections to certify compliance with lead mitigation laws. If a landlord certifies compliance as of September 1, 2024, the state will not fine them for the lack of a lead certificate. This act takes effect upon passage.
