Introduced·1/16/26
Introduced Text

Rhode Island S2105 would reimburse utility relocation costs for highway projects, partially or fully depending on the owner.

Rhode Island S2105 amends the General Laws to establish a reimbursement policy for utility relocation costs related to highway construction. The state will fully reimburse municipalities and political subdivisions for relocation costs. For private corporations and companies, the state will reimburse fifty percent of the reasonable relocation costs. This reimbursement is contingent on the relocation being completed within target dates and meeting design criteria set by the state. The act takes effect upon passage.
