Rhode Island S2041 authorizes the Little Compton town council to establish a homestead exemption for residential dwellings. Registered voters automatically qualify, while non-registered voters must apply. Owners of multiple residences can also apply. Rental properties can qualify if leased for at least twelve months. The exemption amount is initially set at 10% of the mean assessed value, with adjustments possible by the financial town meeting.
