Adds "media literacy" to K-12 civic education standards in Rhode Island.
Rhode Island S2016 amends the curriculum standards for K-12 civic education to include media literacy. The standards, which also cover the history of Rhode Island, representative government, and the rights and duties of citizenship, will be used in public schools starting in kindergarten. The Rhode Island Board of Regents for Elementary and Secondary Education must develop these standards by August 31, 2007.
