Rhode Island H8587 requires all health insurance policies issued or renewed in the state on or after January 1, 2027, to cover medically necessary hormonal and non-hormonal therapies for peri-menopause and menopause symptoms. This coverage must be recommended by a qualified healthcare provider licensed in Rhode Island and must include at least one FDA-approved hormonal and non-hormonal treatment, as well as one hormonal replacement therapy option in each of the following modalities: oral, transdermal, topical, and vaginal. The act takes effect upon passage.
