Rhode Island H8367 amends the General Laws to require healthcare insurers to provide post-acute care services for a minimum of seven days without prior authorization for patients discharged from a hospital. This applies to all individual or group health insurance contracts, or hospital or medical expense insurance policies, plans, or group policies delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed in the state on or after January 1, 2027. The discharging hospital must notify the insurer before the patient is discharged and admitted to post-acute care.
