Rhode Island H8310 amends the timelines for healthcare provider credentialing in the state. It mandates that healthcare entities or health plans operating in Rhode Island must issue a decision on a credentialing application within 30 days of receipt, or 10 business days for providers already credentialed with Medicare. For minor demographic changes, the process must be completed within five business days. The bill also requires healthcare entities to inform applicants within five business days if their application is complete and to provide written reasons if an application is denied.
