Establishes a committee to oversee restrictive housing and disciplinary confinement at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections.

This bill creates the restrictive housing oversight committee to monitor the use of restrictive housing and disciplinary confinement at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. The committee will consist of five members, including a former inmate, a representative from a nonprofit organization, a social worker, the public defender, and the director of the department of corrections. The committee will appoint an ombudsperson to assist in oversight duties.
