Introduced Text

Rhode Island H8249 amends the low and moderate income housing act to modify the calculation of low- or moderate-income housing units and the process.

Rhode Island H8249 amends the low and moderate income housing act to redefine how low- or moderate-income housing units are counted in municipalities. Units that meet certain criteria but lack federal, state, or municipal subsidies or deed restrictions will count as half a unit. The bill also modifies the process for approving construction of low- or moderate-income housing, including the timing for counting affordable housing units and the required findings for denial.
