Rhode Island H8245 requires the state and private insurers to dispense twelve months' worth of prescription hormone therapy as a single prescription.

Rhode Island H8245 amends the state's insurance laws to require the state and private insurers to dispense twelve months' worth of prescription hormone therapy as a single prescription. This applies to all drugs approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration that are used to medically suppress, increase, or replace hormones that the body is not producing at intended levels, as determined by the prescribing provider. The provision takes effect upon passage.
