Rhode Island commends Rhode Island Energy and local utility workers for their efforts during extreme winter weather events.

The House of Representatives recognizes and commends Rhode Island Energy and its workforce for their efforts to restore power and keep Rhode Islanders safe during Winter Storm Hernando and other extreme winter weather events. The resolution highlights the dedication of over 1,300 union and nonunion employees who worked to restore power to more than 99% of the 50,000 customers impacted in under hours. The resolution also acknowledges the challenging conditions created by the storms, including heavy snow accumulations, blizzard conditions, and wind gusts over 60 mph.
