Rhode Island H8111 allows for the sealing of eviction records under specific circumstances.
Rhode Island H8111 amends the Residential Landlord and Tenant Act to allow the sealing of eviction records when a case is dismissed for reasons such as a defective complaint or lack of jurisdiction. The act also permits the sealing of records for minors involved in eviction proceedings. The sealing of records under these circumstances does not count towards the tenant's right to petition for the sealing of one eviction record in five years. The act takes effect upon passage.
