Johnston can set density bonuses based on its zoning laws.

This bill allows the town of Johnston to determine its density bonuses based on its underlying zoning. It amends zoning ordinances to include provisions for density bonuses, zoning incentives, and municipal subsidies. The bill specifies that the affordable housing must constitute at least 15% of the total units proposed for the development. It also outlines the use of fee-in-lieu, off-site construction or rehabilitation, or donation of land suitable for development of the required affordable units. The bill takes effect upon passage.
