Rhode Island H8014 amends the Farmland Preservation Act to prohibit any city, town, quasi-municipal corporation, or public corporation from assessing existing agricultural operations or agricultural land for water utility extensions past the property and from imposing connection fees. The agricultural operation may still be charged for the normal cost of tie-in for sewer utility extensions. The prohibition nullifies if the owner develops or sells the property to a non-qualifying agricultural operation within twenty years. The act takes effect upon passage.
