Rhode Island H8013 grants mobile home residents a right of first refusal to buy or lease their park.

Rhode Island H8013 requires mobile home park owners to notify the residents’ association and the Department of Business Regulation of any bona fide offers to purchase or lease the park. The residents’ association and the Department of Business Regulation must then be given time to match the terms of the offer. This ensures that residents have the opportunity to purchase or lease the park under the same conditions as any third-party buyer or lessee.
