Rhode Island H7991 establishes a policy to prioritize nature-based solutions for coastal resilience projects, such as living shorelines and wetland restoration. The Department of Environmental Management (DEM) and the Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) will update their regulations to incorporate expedited permitting procedures for qualifying projects. The Ocean State Climate Adaptation and Resilience Fund will allocate resources for these projects.
