Establishes efficiency standards for tires to increase efficiency and improve emissions standards.

This bill establishes efficiency standards for new replacement tires for passenger cars and light-duty trucks to increase efficiency and improve emissions standards. The Department of Transportation will adopt regulations to establish energy efficiency standards and wet grip performance standards. The bill also allows for the adoption of a rating system for energy efficiency and wet grip of new replacement tires. The department may require that energy efficiency and wet grip ratings be displayed to consumers at the point of sale.
