Rhode Island H7940 amends unfair discrimination statutes to protect against discrimination in health plans based on race, ethnicity, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, age, disability, height, weight, or any combination thereof. The bill prohibits healthcare entities from denying, canceling, delaying, limiting, or refusing to issue or renew health plans based on these characteristics.
