Rhode Island H7898 requires the installation of weapons detection systems at every public entrance to any school building, gymnasium, school event facility, sporting event site, and any off-campus site where a school hosts or participates in an event. This act defines "public entrance" and "weapon detection system" and mandates the Rhode Island Department of Education to promulgate rules and regulations for implementation. The act takes effect upon passage.
