Rhode Island H7854 amends the condominium law to enhance transparency and establish a condominium ombudsman.

Rhode Island H7854 amends various sections of the condominium law to enhance transparency. The bill allows for electronic posting of meeting notices and electronic voting at meetings. It mandates that financial records be made available for examination within 30 days of a request by any unit owner. The bill also requires every condominium association to obtain an independent financial review of the association’s books, records, and accounts at least once every five fiscal years. The cost of the review shall be a common expense of the association.
