Rhode Island H7787 amends the state's election laws to allow voters to complete early voting ballot applications in person using an electronic poll pad. After completing the application, voters receive a ballot issued by the secretary of state, which they then place into a state-approved electronic voting device. This process applies to the twenty-day early voting period, maintaining all existing voter and election protections and procedures. The bill takes effect upon passage.
