The bill creates the Green Buildings Act Commission, composed of 17 members, tasked with implementing the Green Buildings Act. This act mandates that public major facility projects, defined as those larger than 10,000 square feet, must meet LEED, LEED for Neighborhood Development, and SITES certified standards or equivalent high-performance green building standards. Exceptions can be made if no appropriate standard exists or if applying the standard is impractical.
