Introduced Text

Rhode Island H7717 updates the Rhode Island Cannabis Act to eliminate statutorily required subcommittees under the cannabis advisory board.

Rhode Island H7717 updates the Rhode Island Cannabis Act to eliminate the statutorily required subcommittees under the cannabis advisory board. The bill removes the requirement for specific subcommittees on public safety, cannabis industry, market participation, and social equity. The advisory board will now work directly with the commission and the administrator of the cannabis office to advise and issue recommendations on the use, commerce, regulation, and effects of adult-use and medical cannabis within the state. The act takes effect upon passage.
