Rhode Island H7689 amends the Rhode Island Works Program to allow lawful permanent residents to receive benefits without a waiting period. It also increases the monthly cash benefit to one hundred percent (100%) of the federal poverty level, effective July 1, 2026. The bill ties the benefit amount to the federal poverty level going forward and increases the cash support pass-through to one hundred dollars ($100) for one child and two hundred dollars ($200) for more than one child. This act takes effect on July 1, 2026.
