Allows school districts to seek reimbursement from state funds for lower-cost student transportation services.

This bill allows individual school districts that can transport students outside the district at a lower cost than the statewide system to submit these costs to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and receive reimbursement from state funds. The statewide system aims to reduce duplication of cost and routes, improve services, and reduce costs to local school committees. The bill takes effect upon passage.
