Rhode Island H7659 amends the procedure for approval of construction of low- or moderate-income housing. It prohibits contractors from submitting a single application to the local review board for a comprehensive permit to build low- or moderate-income housing in cities or towns with an inclusionary zoning ordinance. The bill requires that all housing developments include at least 25% low- or moderate-income housing units. It also mandates that low- and moderate-income housing units be built and occupied prior to, or simultaneous with the construction and occupancy of market rate units.
