Rhode Island H7573 permits municipalities to enter into contracts with the Department of Transportation for minor and routine maintenance work on state highways, roadways, and shoulders within their municipal boundaries. Municipalities completing such work are relieved from tort liability if the work meets contract standards. They are also entitled to payment or reimbursement from the Department if the work meets these standards. The bill does not alter the Department's powers and duties.
