Establishes the Home-Fit Dwelling Units Act to ensure new housing developments incorporate design features for safe and convenient use by all.
The Home-Fit Dwelling Units Act mandates that new housing developments with four or more units, permitted on or after July 1, 2027, incorporate design features that ensure safe and convenient use for all residents and visitors, regardless of age or physical ability. At least 10% of these units must comply with Type A standards, and an additional 25% must comply with Type B standards. The act defines "Home-fit" as a residential dwelling designed and constructed to meet these standards.
