Rhode Island H7543 mandates that AI-generated videos or photos posted on public platforms must be marked as AI-generated.

Rhode Island H7543 amends the state's laws to require that any video or photography generated by artificial intelligence and posted on a public platform must include a disclosure that it was created by AI. This applies to content posted within Rhode Island or viewable in the state. A violation of this requirement by an entity for profit would be considered a deceptive trade practice, subjecting the violator to a civil penalty. The act takes effect immediately upon passage.
