Rhode Island H7508 introduces a system for the automatic expungement of eligible criminal records by state agencies through electronic processes. Eligible individuals include those convicted of a misdemeanor with no prior felony or misdemeanor convictions, or those convicted of a felony with no prior felony convictions, provided they meet other criteria such as completing their sentence and paying all associated fees. Violent offenses are excluded from automatic expungement.
