Establishes the medical primary care scholarship program to support students in primary care fields.

The bill establishes the medical primary care scholarship program to be administered by the commissioner of postsecondary education. The program provides scholarships for medical students, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. Recipients must agree to work in Rhode Island providing primary care healthcare services for a period of time following graduation. The maximum award for medical school scholarships is $70,000 per academic year, and for nurse practitioner or physician assistant scholarships, it is $47,000 per academic year.
