This bill expands the scope of practice for nurse anesthetists with two years’ or more experience to remove the requirement of physician supervision. It allows non-supervised certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) to deliver anesthesia care independently, including administering drugs and performing related services. The bill also mandates that the Executive Office of Health and Human Services apply for any necessary Medicaid waivers by September 1, 2026. The changes will take effect on January 1, 2027.
