Rhode Island H7375 amends zoning ordinances to permit the operation of home-based businesses that meet the Internal Revenue Service criteria for a home office tax deduction, without needing municipal approval. This exemption applies only if the business does not store chemicals or other hazardous materials, does not park heavy equipment, and uses no more than 10% of the premises for parking, regardless of local zoning laws or ordinances. The act takes effect immediately upon passage.
